There is no minimum age limit for Minor Hockey. Generally, the Initiation program is geared for kids who will be from 4-6 years old by December 31 of the current hockey year. If you have a younger child that you wish to enroll, please contact the BMHA Board and they will help you determine if your child is ready.

The practice and game schedule is located under the ICE SCEHDULE Tab of this website. Generally, the ice schedule cannot be set before September/October of the Hockey Year as the number of teams and constraints of each team is not determined until that time. Over the season, there may be small adjustments to the schedule as ice becomes available

Should I go buy a mouthguard for my child?

Sunday, August 22, 2010

For players with a full cage type face guard, each Minor Association has its own rules and some mandate the use of mouth guards, the Beiseker Minor Hockey Association mandates that any Beiseker Minor Hockey player playing in a Pee Wee level game or that of a higher division is required to have a mouth guard. Players will not be allowed on the ice without a mouth guard. If the player doesn't have a mouth guard or isn't using the mouth guard properly a warning is issued to the bench, players not having a mouth guard will not be allowed back on the ice. Those who use the mouth guard improperly will receive a minor penalty. Visiting teams are not subject to this rule.
